Generous donations and sponsorship provides thousands of dollars in scholarships. Every contribution counts towards offering this invaluable experience to young musicians. Your contributions also help to cover costs like venue fees, guest presenters, website management, allowing a more affordable tuition for ALL participants.

MOZART SCHOLARSHIPS
About
Funded by the generous donations from the harp community, music lovers and former HSHF participants. Amounts awarded will be $100 or more per recipient towards the Festival Tuition. The Mozart will be awarded to two or more students each year.
Students may qualify to apply for more than one HSHF scholarship.

Deadline midnight May 1st, 2025
A completed application includes scholarship application, teacher recommendation form and video performances of 2 contrasting pieces/movements.
Incomplete applications or applications submitted after May 1st will not be considered.
Merit and need are considered.
A student may qualify and be awarded a Mozart Scholarship multiple years!

Student’s teacher must submit the Teacher Recommendation Form by midnight on May 20th. Scholarship Teacher Form

These full tuition scholarships are sponsored by the Gulf Coast Harpers Association in remembrance of beloved Houston harpists Cynthia Cooper, Karen McGarrett and Louise Trotter.

Students accepting the a Memorial Scholarship agree to:
Perform at one of the Gulf Coast Harp meetings and speak about the Festival experience if a Houston area resident.
Write an essay or submit a video performing and speaking about the Festival experience if an out-of-town resident.
Give permission to the Gulf Coast Harpers Association to post photo/video/essay presentation on https://www.gulfcoastharpers.com

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIP
About
Awarded to a harpist who is 14 – 19 years of age as of July 1st. This recipient excels in all facets of a polished performance including tone, technique, expression and poise.
This scholarship is sponsored by Artistic Director Kimberly Snaufer DeRosa in the amount of $300. If no applicants meet a standard performance level, the scholarship will not be awarded.
Students may qualify to apply for more than one HSHF scholarship.

Deadline midnight May 1st, 2025.
A completed application includes a scholarship application form and video performances of 3 contrasting pieces or movements must be submitted.
Incomplete applications or applications submitted after May 1st will not be considered.
This scholarship is strictly merit based.
A recipient may only receive this scholarship one time.
